I went to the shrimp box for the sunset dinner special which was until 5:00 PM. They had a wide variety of options to choose from, and each meal came with a drink, appetizer and a dessert. The meals were priced reasonably for the amount of food that you got. I started off with the New England clam chowder for my appetizer, continued with the stuffed salmon for my entrée and had the carrot cake for dessert. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. My girlfriend ordered the salad for her appetizer, the linguine with clams for the entrée and the rice pudding for dessert , I tried her linguine with clams and felt that this was just average as there was a little bit of sand in the sauce. It's still tasted very good but not as good as the stuffed salmon. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and am eager to try more of their sunset dinners.
This is a family spot for us. But a great place to enjoy with friend for a quick drink and quick food apps sandwiches or if you're feeling up for entrées. Service is great friendly staff. Always helpful even when u bring the littles around. Great views. Very nautical. Very mindful. Must eat here once. But i will continue to go there bc the food never disappoints. I was there yesterday around 2pm and the outdoor patio was hopping. The sun keeping everyone warm in october was the best part. Going back soon
This is my favorite seafood place in New Jersey. They just recently made their outdoor seating larger in the parking lot which allows for much shorter waits for outside seating. The lavender lemonade was frozen and so delicious. Beware they are fairly strong. The soft shell crabs were huge and so flavorful. I only wish they gave mashed potatoes instead of a baked potato. Service was very quick. If you sit right on the edge of the water you get to watch the boats come in/sunset as you eat. Lovely place and would highly recommend
Since our last visit, this delightful spot has become an annual tradition for us. Today, we returned to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was as exceptional as ever. We started with the flavorful Lobster Bisque, followed by the perfectly cooked Coconut Shrimp with their signature orange dipping sauce, and the classic Oysters Rockefeller. Each dish was a delight. For the main course, we finally indulged in the South African Lobster Tails, a dish we've been eager to try. Words truly can't capture the exquisite taste and presentation. If you ever have the opportunity, it's a must-try. Feeling completely satisfied, we almost skipped dessert. However, the Pistachio Ricotta cake caught our eye, so we decided to share a plate. To our surprise, our attentive waiter, Bill, presented the dessert with a lit candle in honor of our anniversary, adding a heartwarming touch to a perfect evening. Thank you for another unforgettable dining experience!
First time this year and better than I remember! Stellar service and ambiance!!! The fries were crispy, coleslaw excellent, and soft shell crabs
Another yearly visit to this great place. Watching the boat passing by and docking next to this place. It is a great place to enjoy the view of all the boats on the water. The food is also great, it's been consistently good and it's the best place on pt pleasant area. I strongly recommend to check this place. Service serve with smile and they are fantastic. Sunset diner is a must. It comes with soap or salad, desert and drinks. Just awesome place.
Came on a weekend night without reservation and a little bit of a wait around 6pm. Service was friendly and timely. The restaurant does get packed around dinner time. 1. Lime shrimp - Delicious, good flavors with the lime and large shrimp. 2. Lobster roll - Well packed and clean tasting. Not too much fillers which is good. 3. Captain's plate - Very full plate and you get a taste of everything. One of my favorites so come hungry. 4. Key lime pie - Slight tart and a good creamy texture. Good home made pie. Overall I would come visit at least once and I will likely be back for more!
This is such a great spot on a beautiful night. They have an outdoor area called Outside the Box that is right on the water in Point Pleasant. Plenty of seating and a bar as well. The food is absolutely delicious and super fresh. The service is also great. Highly recommend this spot for any occasion!
We had first checked out the Shrimp Box last year and the food was amazing. This year my girlfriend wanted to take me back here for my birthday and I obviously was looking forward to it. It's memorial day weekend and the weather was perfect so we opted for outdoor dining by the water. Only had about a 25 minute wait which wasn't bad at all. I ordered a bowl of New England Claw Chowder, and the broiled stuffed flounder. The clam chowder was very tasty and you get a big bowl! The broiled stuffed flounder gives you a good portion of flounder stuffed with crabmeat, with mashed potato's and mixed vegetables. So much flavor, full of crabmeat, and well worth the money for the plate. Service is quick and the staff very friendly. We are already looking forward to out next visit.
